FVAE 2015 Final Scores

Hi y'all. Sometimes keeping up with a Grand Tour can seem like trying to keep up with the musical output of Robert Pollard. But now the dust has settled on the Vuelta, I might as well give you some sort of closure on this year's fantasy race and not leave you hanging like I did last year.............. For a while it looked like Tom Dumoulin might pull off the surprise of the year, but it all went wrong on the penultimate stage, when Fabio Aru and his Astana henchmen worked the plucky Dutchy over.

In the end, we had a not entirely unpredictable podium, with Aru ahead of J-Rod and Majka.

The all important Fantasy crown went to the Flying Hutchmen, who if I remember correctly, haven't come anywhere close to winning before, so well done I'm sure. Not too far behind were the Kloefekappers FC and further behind them (but ahead of the rest of you losers) were the Bile Beans.

That's the Vuelta done with then. There may be a Fantasy World Championships still to come, and I may be arsed to post about it. In the meantime, I need to get some practice in for Cross Season.

FVAE 2015 Stage 3 - Business Up-Front From Sagan

Those of you around at Vuelta time last year may remember, that what was vexing me back in 2014, was the fact that I spent a bunch of points on Peter Sagan, only for the Slacking-Slovak to freewheel through most of the race and then go home before the finish. I wasn't about to be caught out again, so he was left out of the Bile Beans squad in light of his 2014 escapades - that and the fact that he appears to have grown a mullet - and you can never trust a man with a mullet. I should know, I live in the Southern United States.

Instead I took the sensible option and put my faith in a German with a mustache.

Unfortunately it wasn't a Faster Mustache, so Degenkolb got beat by Sagan today - not to mention that French bellend Nacer Bouhanni.

Crappy points for the Bile Beans, but Mungo did alright.
And the Flying Hutchmen remain ontop of the overall.
