FVAE 2015 Stage 3 - Business Up-Front From Sagan

Those of you around at Vuelta time last year may remember, that what was vexing me back in 2014, was the fact that I spent a bunch of points on Peter Sagan, only for the Slacking-Slovak to freewheel through most of the race and then go home before the finish. I wasn't about to be caught out again, so he was left out of the Bile Beans squad in light of his 2014 escapades - that and the fact that he appears to have grown a mullet - and you can never trust a man with a mullet. I should know, I live in the Southern United States.

Instead I took the sensible option and put my faith in a German with a mustache.

Unfortunately it wasn't a Faster Mustache, so Degenkolb got beat by Sagan today - not to mention that French bellend Nacer Bouhanni.

Crappy points for the Bile Beans, but Mungo did alright.
And the Flying Hutchmen remain ontop of the overall.

FVAE 2015 Stage 2 - Chaves Saves The Day

Comining into the race, they said that Astana had too many potential team leaders and that it could cause problems. Well, now Alexandre Vinokurov has one less thing to worry about, as Vincenzo Nibali has been kicked out of the Vuelta after taking a tow off the team car that was so big, it could be seen by those aboard the International Space Station.

I thought Nibali would be motivated to do a strong Giro, if not to make up for his poor showing at the Tour, then at least to keep Vino quiet. At the Tour, the Bile Beans may not have won, but I did take some pride in getting nine men to Paris. Now I find myself a man down after only two stages. Bugger.

Also vexing me, is the performance of Estaban Chaves, who won the stage today and took over the race lead. He almost made the Bile Beans squad, but I was still mad at him for earning me not many points when I put my faith in him at the Giro. Bugger.

It's all going wrong for me already then. Things went a lot better for a team that is usually just pack-fodder, the Flying Hutchmen.

And in the big picture the Flying Hutchmen are erm, flying.
